My late review for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I am sure that a lot of people on here have seen Transformers: ROTF by now. You've probably heard about the little controversy about the characters Skids and Mudflap, portraying offensive, negative stereotypes of African Americans. Well let me say that those two weren't as offensive as the whole entire movie was. The last time I was so bored at the movies was when I begged, and dragged my mom and grandmother to go see Supergirl.

What's the plot about? Find an artifact, before the Decepticons, or else the world will end. That's it in a nutshell, and it took two hours and thirty minutes to tell all of that. One of my main problems is that I want to go to a Transformers movie to see Transformers. Not their human sidekick for 95% of the movie. It's almost as if the Transformers were just set pieces and not part of the story. Like a Yu Gi Oh card, they were called to play for all the action sequences, but when it came time to advance the story, they were nowhere to be found. And if they were, they didn't contribute to the story.

Another problem I had was that I didn't care for any of the characters. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the guys who wrote the screenplay for the new Star Trek movie, are also involved with Lost, and also help write Fringe, seemed to have forgotten that sometimes you need to give a damn about what is happening to the characters on the screen. Warning, spoilers are ahead. You have been warned. So what that Optimus Prime died? Yeah, he looked awesome in his action sequences, but Megatron knifing him from behind? Oh well. He wasn't developed enough in the first movie or this one to care that he was killed. And then Sam is all upset afterwords because he feels that it was all his fault. Maybe if they showed the bond they had, I would have felt something.

There were also plot holes galore. In one scene, Sam tells Optimus that wants nothing to do with this war and that he did his part already. Yet, two years have gone by since the first movie, and it's been implied that since that time, the Autobots have been helping the military track down Decepticons while Sam has been in California with Bumblebee. So you did one thing two years earlier and your dorky ass can't help out your friends? If it wasn't for the Autobots, he wouldn't have his hot girlfriend. Little ungrateful bastard. And how come the Fallen can only be defeated by a Prime? Lets see... The Fallen is a Prime gone rogue. Optimus Prime is the last of the Primes. Megatron kills Optimus Prime. So, if Optimus Prime is the only one who can take out the Fallen, but Megatron takes out Optimus Prime, then why is Megatron taking orders like a bitch from the Fallen? They made it pretty clear that he's bad ass enough to take out a Prime.

My other problem is that the director, Michael Bay, said that this movie should appeal to your inner child, and that he was thinking about how kids would react when watching this movie. Really? If that's so, then why was Megan Fox bent over in her best porn star pose on a motorcycle, just touch up what she was painting on the bike? Why the foul language from the twins? Why have Wheelie humping Megan Fox's leg? Why the nut sack on Devastator? And why show Jon Turturro's sagging butt cheeks? Really, is all that for the kids? My other problem with him is that he has no imagination. But that is a whole other story.

So, if you can't tell by now, I didn't like this piece of crap. I'm sorry that I spent money on it. I will say that the action scenes were great, and if what you want to see is giant robots fighting then this is for you. But, if you prefer a solid story to go along with your action, then you're not going to like this movie very much.

Woooooooow lol T, u killed the whole movei man, it was good, i loved the animation it was better than before and people cared that Prime D**d because peple always route for Prime, Hes that dude lol. I do agree about the unnecessary things like Balls on Devastator but thats comic relief i guess. and Megatron was getting his ass whipped so he cheated as always to defeat Prime just like in the 1986 Movie Cartoon, remember. The story wasnt too bad it was close to the comics bringing out the Matrix of leadership and more....watch it again youll love it the 2nd time.
Killed it lol! Man I was holding back. I'm going to see it again though. I was supposed to see it in IMAX last Friday, but I was being lazy and waited until it was too late to get tickets and it was sold out. So, I'll probably go next week and see it in IMAX because I hear that the scenes filmed for it are awesome. And I'm not denying that the action wasn't good. If there is one thing I can count on Michael Bay for is for action. And I liked Soundwave. I thought that having him as a satelite was cool. I don't care for the character designs. They look like metal just mashed together, and it makes it harder to follow the action. But that is a complaint from the last movie, so I'm not going to go into complete detail about that because I can take up a whole page about the designs. As far as Prime goes, of course we and other fans route for him because we've had 25 years to get to know him... Damn 25 years. But I can't picture any 8 year olds feeling the same way I felt after seeing Optimus pass away on the operating table in the 86 movie. Not to worry though. I am pretty sure that in 10 years someone is going to do a reboot.

Maaannnn. Im always got the first time around I enjoy the movie, then pick it apart later, if there is anything to pick apart. The 86 movie didnt tramatize me like i did others, I but it hit me just the same, I was shocked that regulars were droppin like red shirts on star trek. some didnt even get an onscreen death. Rise of the fallen is the dumbest fuckin story i have ever heard. I keep waiting for the bad ass scene where optimus runs through a gang of decepticons and then only defeated when a dumb ass gets in his way, Sam could have play this roll beautifully. alot of this movie felt like re hashed lethal weapon, and other Bay movie action sequences. I dont think that a live action Transformers is even necessary, humans dont play a large enough roll to have actual movie stars in the movie. They will want all the camera time. I'm high so im probably rambling. theres just too much wrong.
